POREČ ISTRIA
Poreč

Poreč is a city of culture and fun, pleasant sun and warm sea. It is situated on the west coast of Istria, the biggest Croatian peninsula. Poreč has 37 km of coastline that extends from the valley of river Mirna on the north to the deep Lim Fjord on the south. Clean beaches and bays and numerous islands are a symbol of Poreč. The biggest and most beautiful of all Poreč islands, Sveti Nikola (Saint Nicholas), encloses the charming port of Poreč. The round tower on the island Sveti Nikola, dating from 1402, is one of the oldest lighthouses in Adriatic (not in use anymore).

Istria is quite low and hilly around Poreč, covered with luxuriant vegetation and forests of pins that often reach all the way to the sea. More than 200 villages that surround Poreč have mostly retained their original istrian style. Funtana and Vrsar are a part of south Poreč region, with a sport airport in Vrsar. Višnjan, Vižinada, Sveti Lovreč and Kaštelir are located east of Poreč, in a region of vineyards and olive fields. Tourist centers of Poreč are Lanterna, Ulika, Červar-Porat, Materada, Brulo, Plava Laguna, Zelena Laguna and Bijela Uvala.

Sport facilities like tennis, sailing and scuba diving, cultural events, concerts and city parties will enrich the day of every visitor of Istria and Poreč. And when the sun finally disappears behind the horizon, the summer feeling will be completed with delights of remarkable istrian cuisine. For those whose days last 24 hours there are numerous bars and discotheques.
